BIOL 4162. Advanced Biotechnology Environmental Biotechnology I. (3) (W) Prerequisite: A grade of C or above in BIOL 3161 or BIOL 3166. The course uses a problem-based learning approach where students work in teams to develop solution strategies that use biotechnology to solve real-world problems. (Fall) Applications of biotechnology to solve real-world environmental civil-engineering problems working in interdisciplinary teams. Three lecture hours per week. (On demand)

BIOL 4163. Advanced Biotechnology Environmental Biotechnology II. (3) Prerequisite: A grade of C or above in BIOL 3161 or BIOL 3166 and permission of instructor. Students work in teams to implement solution strategies developed in BIOL 4162 that use biotechnology to solve real-world problems.
