Catalog Description - This course provides an overview of social work theories related to mental/behavioral health assessment. Social constructivism frames many of these theories for the purposes of conceptualizing diagnostic classifications, as well as human strengths and resiliencies. While, social work practice behaviors are understood within the context of human behaviors and the social environment, and applied for responsibly engaging and assessing behavioral health consumers via the APA Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders
