Credit Hours: (43)

Water-rock Iinteraction and processes controlling the chemical composition of of rocks, minerals, and gases with natural waters (streams, lakes, and groundwater) under natural conditions, including an overview of the compositions of natural waters from a variety of environmental and geologic settings emphasizing a rigorous thermodynamic approach to understanding water-rock interactions. Topics include the carbonate system, mineral precipitation/dissolution, redox reactions, and metal speciation. (On demand.)
