ECGR 4261. Microwave Circuit Design I. (3) Prerequisites: ECGR 3122 3131; and senior/graduate standing, or permission of department. Design and analysis of microwave devices and circuits; including microwave aspects of discrete active (i.e., field effect and bipolar transistors, etc.) and passive (i.e., microstrips, inductors, capacitors) components; device parameter extraction, using computer aided design (CAD) tools. Telegrapher's and wave equations; physical transmission lines; circuit analysis techniques; impedance matching techniques; and Wilkinson power dividers, hybrid couplers, trnsformers, and filters.
