ARTE 2121 Developmental Art (3)
Human growth potential, creative and perceptual development, learning objectives, past and current philosophies, and psychology in art. Individual studio problems involving art elements, principles, and media. For non-majors only.
ARTE 2121 Integrating Art Across the Curriculum (3)
Prerequisites: Pre-ELED or ELED majors only. This course explores the role of visual arts in the holistic development of children and provides models for integrating content and skills in the visual arts with academic subjects. It is designed to inform elementary education majors about the fundamentals of aesthetics, art making, and art pedagogy, and to provide models for meaningful integration across content areas. Students will experiment with various studio materials and methods used to teach diverse learners in the elementary classroom. Four contact hours.
