SPED 7150 – School Counseling and Children with Special Needs


Credit Hours: (3)

Offers an extensive understanding of children with exceptional needs including recent legislation, current definitions and North Carolina eligibility criteria, and current initiatives in the public schools for identifying and providing interventions within the general education program as well as special education support services. Students are introduced to a variety of counseling support services that may be offered through the Counselor’s role in the public schools. Literature case study is required.

Prerequisite(s): CSLG 7141 .
