The Concentration in Middle Grades Education consists of 33 credit hours.

  • Science – MDSK 6250, GEOG 5000-6999, ESCI 5000-6999, BIOL 5000-6999, CHEM 5000-6999, PHYS 5000-6999
  • Social Studies
  • Social Studies – MDSK 6254, GEOG 5000-6999, MDSK 5000-6999 (topics course that is content specific), HIST 5000-6999, AFRS 5000-6999, POLS 5000-6999, RELS 5000-6999, WGST 5000-6999
  • Mathematics
  • Mathematics – MDSK 6251, MAED 5000-6999, MATH 5000-6999, STAT 5000-6999
  • English

Advanced Specialization Pedagogy (3 credit hours)


A graduate-level pedagogy course should be chosen in consultation with student’s advisor. Possible elective options include, and are limited to one of, the following:
